-> Hampton - John Frank Owens, 88, of 402 Shaw Drive, died Sunday morning in the Bamberg County Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Owens was born in Hampton County, November 11, 1916 a son of the late Walter and Lelia Bowers Owens. He had retired as a Senior Foreman with Westinghouse Corp. in Hampton and was a member of the Hampton 1st Baptist Church. Mr. Owens was married to the late Louise Branch Owens. Friends may call at the Chapel in Hampton from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday morning prior to services. Surviving are: one son, Norman F. Owens of Savannah; one daughter, Sharon Louise Smith of Fairfax; two sisters, Emma Lee Williamson of Beaufort and Roberta Ciminski of Portage, MI; granddaughter, Leslie S. Withycombe of Lexington and a great-son, Owen Douglas Withycombe of Lexington and a special friend, Addie Williams of Hampton. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hampton 1st Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Dr. Greg Clements and Rev. Jo hn Anderson. Burial: Johnson-St. Paul Cemetery, Hampton and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton. Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, Inc.
