WILLIAMS John F. Williams, retired ARCO (Atlantic Refining Co.) employee and resident of Philadelphia, Pa. for 80 years, died Monday, March 17, 2003 at St. Joseph Manor in Trumbull of the complications of Parkinson s disease. Born on August 26, 1918, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John F. and Anna G. Williams. He attended local schools and Temple University. He followed his father s footsteps to Atlantic Refining Co., (later ARCO) in 1937 and retired after 44 years in 1982. He had many wonderful memories and stories of the challenging work and wonderful colleagues at ARCO. He was active in the ARCO Retirees Association. An active member of St. Helena s Church, he also gave his time and energy for 20 years to the Catholic Charities of Philadelphia. His wife, Marion, whom he met in elementary school and to whom he was married for 53 years, predeceased him as did his brothers, James and Paul; and his sisters, Mary W. Daley and Nancy W. Looby. Two sisters survive, Patricia W. Kelly of Chestnut Hill, Pa. and Katherine W. Barratta of Ocala Fla. He is also survived by his six children and their spouses, Marion and Vincent Berry of New Canaan, John and Catherine Hickey-Williams of Newtown, Kathleen and John Farley of Dallas, Texas, Joan Williams and Timothy Collins of Bethesda, MD, Regina and Frank Tate of Boston, Mass. and Michael and Kathryn Williams of Potomac, Md.; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Memorials in Mr. Williams name may be made to St. Joseph Manor, 6448 Main Street, Trumbull, CT 06611 or to the American Parkinson Disease Association at the Hospital of St. Raphael, 200 Orchard Street, New Haven, CT 06511. Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2003 at Redgate - Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2003 at St. Stephen s Church in Trumbull. Burial will be at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Philadelphia, Pa. on Monday, March 24, 2003. Friends are welcome to meet at the main entrance of Holy Sepulcher at 12:30 p.m.
