John F. Jordan, age 92, passed away Oct. 13, 2007, in Valparaiso, Fla. He was born on March 20, 1915, to George L. and Mary Ada Harbour Jordan. Mr. Jordan was Baptist by faith and a member of First Baptist Church of Niceville. He was a United States Air Force veteran with 20 years of service. After retiring from the military, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening and traveling. Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by one brother, George; four sisters, Elizabeth Haynes, Beatrice Brumbeloe, Ira Bray and Velma Estes; and his former wife, LadaBelle Jordan. Survivors include his loving wife, Janesse Jordan; son, Alvin G. Jordan and wife, Janet; step-son, John T. Alton and his wife, Susan; grandson, John Curtis Jordan and his wife, (Cheryl); and great-grandson, Caleb A. Jordan. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at First Baptist Church of Niceville, 622 Bayshore Drive, Niceville, with Rev. Billy Grimes officiating. A time of visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund in his memory. Twin Cities Cremation and Funeral Services is entrusted with the arrangements.
