ERICKSON John Burdick, 93, on December 17, 2011, of Ramsey, NJ. Beloved husband of Mary Luella (nee Munger) for 69 years. Loving father of Emily Hendrick and husband David of Atlanta, GA, John B. Erickson Jr. and wife Julie of Alton IA and Wendy Sue Bonitz and husband Arthur of Howell, NJ. Adored grandfather of Christina, Andrew, Rebecca, Jamie, Kristi, Jonna, Arthur III, Julia and Cynthia and 11 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of the late Elinor Green and Carl Arthur Erickson Jr. John was a Cum Laude graduate of Hobart College. He was a US Marine WWII Veteran and served in the Pacific Theatre. He was in the 3rd Marine Division also serving in Bougainville, Guadalcanal, Guam, Iwo Jima and Okinawa rising to the rank of Major during his service. Following the war he earned an MBA at Harvard Business School and worked over a 25 year career with Shell Oil Co. in NYC. After retirement, he became an enrolled agent with the IRS. John was also a Free Mason in Albany, NY. He served as a Deacon and Elder at the First Presbyterian Church of Ramsey. John loved gardening, fishing, football and family most of all. Visitation will be held on Monday (TODAY) from 7-9 PM at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 11 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Ramsey. Cremation will be private.
