John Edward Freeman, 64, of Gainesville, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2010, at his residence following a sudden illness.Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Raymond Latty and the Rev. Jack Burgess will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.Mr. Freeman was born May 26, 1946, in Gainesville to the late C.A. Freeman and Myrtie Bryant Freeman. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Con-Agra as a supervisor. John was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Wesley Freeman.Mr. Freeman is survived by his wife, Billie Freeman of Gainesville; sons, Steve Garrison and Stanley Garrison, both of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Darlene Garrison of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Don E. Williamson of New Albany, Ind.; grandson, Jason Garrison of Gainesville; granddaughters, Wendy Carnes of Cornelia and Kim Coley of Lula; great-grandsons, Austin Garrison, Caden Carnes and soon to arrive, Luke Coley; sister, Annette Gerleman of Lula; and brother, Charles Freeman of Stone Mountain.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1370 Calvary Church Road, Gainesville, GA 30507.Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA 30504, is in charge of arrangements.Send online condolences to www.memorialparkfuneralhomes.com
