HALE, JOHN E., 83, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Klondike Manor. He was born in Jeffersonville, IN, and was a retired patternmaker, a creative and talented woodworker, artist and craftsman. John was a member of the Skyliners Model Airplane Club, Louisville Radio Control Club, Louisville Archaeological Society and St. Pius X Catholic Church. He was a decorated World War II Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie H. "Margie" Hale; children, Vincent Hale (Ange), Marilyn Bowman (Bob), James Hale (Kari Williams) and Kenneth Hale; and seven grandchildren. His funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Pius Church, 3521 Goldsmith Lane, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road from 2-8 p.m. Friday and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church or to the Falls of the Ohio State Park. The family thanks the current and former staff of Klondike Manor for the kind, loving care given to John.
