Cobb, 84 of Springfield, was born on March 4, 1930 in Chadwick, MO to Thomas Cobb and Charlottie Dwyer. He passed away on January 1, 2015.He served in the Army for 20 years retiring in 1971 and also retired from St. John's Hospital after 20 years in food service. His family considered him a "Jack of all trade", he loved to fish, tinker in his building and also wrote poetry. His memory is a treasure and we will miss him beyond measure.He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers and 4 sisters.John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty R. Cobb; 4 children, Larry (Cynthia) Silkey, DeeDee (Jeffery) Morrison, Stefan (Sharon) Cobb and Ruth Ann (Jody) Keller; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Lucille Walker and Mary Ellen Ingenthron and a host of family and friends. A service will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 11 a.m. in Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W State Hwy EE (Division), Springfield, MO with visitation from 10 till 11 am prior to the service.
