John "Jack" Hamilton 1931-2015 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of John "Jack" Douglas Hamilton which occurred at Bobby’s Hospice, Saint John on Sunday February 8, 2015. Jack was born in Gagetown, New Brunswick, on January 24, 1931 he was the son the late Douglas O. Hamilton and Hazel R. Hamilton (Nee McKay). Jack was a tug boat captain with Atlantic Towing Ltd. up until his retirement. Jack was a member of the Saint John Beaver Hockey Club and that won Maritime Senior Championship 52-53 and 55-56. He was an avid outdoorsman. Surviving are his loving wife of 68 years, Nancy M. (Short); three sons, John of Oklahoma, Robert (Cynthia), Grand Bay-Westfiled and Richard (Wendy), Gagetown; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; and an uncle Arthur McKay of Belleisle. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his three daughters, Shirley, Joan and Mary; and a sister, Marie Barker. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on, Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 12 pm. Interment will take place at a later date in Gagetown Anglican Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Bobby’s Hospice, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
