JOHN L. DAVIS COCOA John L. Davis, 78, of Cocoa, died Thursday, December 20, 2007. Born in Camden, MS to the late John Wesley Davis and Nancy Massey. He was married to the late Catherine Davis for almost 50 years; she preceded him in death in 2005. John worked in the construc tion industry and was a member of the Laborers International Union #517, retiring in 1991. John is survived by his six children, John L. Davis Jr., Sally Humphrey, Rose Pompey (Pax ton), Gyndel World (Detron Sr), Shelly Price (Willie Sr.), and Todd Davis; 12 grandchildren, Correy Davis, Shaven Davis, Shinika Humphrey, Willie Price Jr., Alyssa Colbert, Shawanda Postell, Carrington Heggs, Detron World Jr., Demetrius World, Darius World, Dante World, and Trevyn Davis; one great-grandchild, Micah Harris; and a sister, Ophelia Davis. He was predeceased by his brother, John Wesley Davis and sisters, Ora White, Emma John son and Johnnie Mae Taylor. John was a devoted and lov ing husband, father, friend and always helped others. He en joyed sitting in his carport and drinking ice tea. He will be deeply missed. Visitation will be held Friday, December 28th, 5 - 7 p.m. and funeral services will be Satur day, December 29th at 11 a.m., both at Parker Memorial Mis sionary Baptist Church. Lewis-Ray Mortuary is serv ing the family.
