APPLING, Ga. - Mr. John (JD) Cobb, 73, of Tubman Rd., entered into rest on Sunday, April 23, 2006 at his residence. Mr. Cobb was a native of Columbia County and a retired truck driver. He was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from Rehoboth Baptist Church with Rev. Jesse Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Cobb will lie in state one hour prior to the services. Survivors include a devoted wife, Mrs. Velma Majors Cobb; three sons, Levon Crawford, Evans, Fitzgerald Cobb, Biloxi, Miss. and Royce Cobb, Los Angeles; one daughter, Linda M. Jones, Martinez; eight grandchildren; a devoted aunt, Mrs. Beatrice Tutt, Augusta; a devoted cousin, Mr. Moses Cobb, Augusta and a host of other relatives and friends. Family and friends will assemble at the residence at 10:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be cousins. The repast will follow in the church fellowship hall.
