John C. Madigan, IIIof Groton; formerly of Ayer; 56 GROTON -- John C. Madigan, III, 56, of Groton, formerly of Ayer, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Nashoba Valley Medical Center, Ayer.Mr. Madigan was born in Ayer, April 9, 1958; a son of Margaret C. (Curley) Madigan and the late John C. Madigan Jr. and resided many years in Ayer before moving to Groton eight years ago.He was a 1976 graduate of Ayer High School and continued his education at Nichols College in Dudley where he received his bachelors degree in accounting and finance.He was a founder and owner of both Madigan Lime Corporation in Harvard and J.C. Madigan, Inc. in Lancaster. He was an avid collector of antique snowmobiles. He attended St. Benedicts Abbey in Harvard.In addition to his mother Margaret of Ayer, he leaves his wife, Patricia A. (Venuto) Madigan; three children, Jessica C. Madigan, John C. Madigan IV, Jennifer C. Madigan all of Groton; his brother and sister-in-law, Timothy and Eileen Madigan of Groton; his sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis Madigan and her husband, Paul Lindquist of Dover.MADIGAN -- A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday, May 17th at St. Theresa's Church, Still River Road, Harvard. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.Calling hours are 4-7 Friday at the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road, (Rte 2A) Ayer.
