DAVIS, John Barnard Born July 22, 1917 in Virden Manitoba, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2005 with his family by his side. Pre-deceased by his loving wife Lillian in 1996, he will be greatly missed by his companion Doris Wallace, sons Grant (Debby), Glen (Carol), daughters Betsi and Nancy (Terry), sister-in-law Adeline Duncan, grandchildren Andrea, Lindsay, Trevor, Matthew, Tory, Jason, Spencer, Tyson Fiona, Alastair, Aila, and Gemma. Raised in Manitoba, John enlisted in the RCAF in 1937 and served his country overseas. He met Lillian after the war, they married in 1949 and together had four children. After retiring from the service in 1961, he moved his family to Victoria and opened Davis Hardware in Oak Bay where he enjoyed serving the community until his retirement in 1981. John enjoyed working in his gardens, going on long walks, travelling to foreign countries and going on cruises. But most of all he loved being with his family which in later years included his dear friend Doris. He will be missed by us all. Grant, Glen, Betsi and Nancy would like to thank all those involved in Dad's care during the final year of his life, in particular Doris and Debby whose love and support for Dad will always be cherished. Godspeed, Daddy, you were the greatest. You will always be in our hearts. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 on Saturday, January 29th at the Garden Chapel in Royal Oak Burial Park with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dad's memory may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation. 33656
