OBITUARY JOHN ANTHONY CASEY WWII Veteran, D-Day Veteran, formerly of Montreal, passed away peacefully August 3, 2005 at the Perley-Rideau Veterans' Centre at the age of eighty-six. John was a lifetime member of the Montreal Black Watch and a former superintendent of Noranda CCR, Montreal. John was the cherished son of the late John and late Greta Casey, Montreal, the beloved husband of the late Joan (Hindess), and the loving father of Catherine Merrill (Charles), Uxbridge, U.K. He was predeceased by Gerald - his younger brother, close friend and ally - and his youngest brother, William. John was devoted to, and much loved by his three sisters Mary Roberts (George) of Montreal, Kathleen Barry (John), of Palm Harbor, Florida, and Bernadette Tourangeau (Ron) of Ottawa. Uncle John was lovingly cherished by his many nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased, as well, by his good friend Eileen Smith of Montreal. John was a kind and gracious man who cherished his family, his military comrades and its traditions. He had a loving and grateful heart. John will be truly missed by all of us. He has fought the good fight. May he rest in peace. Resting at the J.A. Guilbault Funeral Home, 5359 boul. St. Michel, corner Masson, Rosemont, Montreal. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 8 at 2 p.m. at St. Brendan's Church, 3542 Rosemount Boulevard, Montreal. Visitation Sunday 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday as of 12 noon. For those wishing to do so, donations to the Perley & Rideau Veterans' Health Centre Foundation, 1750 Russell Road, Ottawa, Ontario, K1G 5Z6, would be greatly appreciated.
