John A. Ericson, 85, died March 8, 2008, at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach. He was born in New York City and raised in Greenwich Conn. He moved to Vero Beach five years ago, coming from Stuart. Prior to retirement, he was the plant manager for Electrolux Corporation in Old Greenwich, Conn. He was a graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y., and served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Gerda T. Ericson of Vero Beach; daughters, Christina Wilkinson of Greenwich, Conn., Sandra Wenk of Spartanburg, S.C., and Donna Stark of Arlington, Texas; and five grandchildren. SERVICES: A private memorial service will take place at a later date. Arrangements are by Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
