TUSCALOOSA Joel Mack Williams, age 66, of Tuscaloosa, died April 8, 2006 at Hospice of West Alabama. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. today at Memory Hill Gardens with Bert English officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.His parents, Homer and Eula Williams of Vina, Ala., preceded him in death.Survivors include his wife, Kay Williams; daughter, Karen Wilkins (Mike) of Tuscaloosa; son, Jason Williams (Amy) of Tuscaloosa; sisters, Lurla Bell Watson of Vina, Ala. and Kate Renfroe (Joe) of Bessemer, Ala.; brother, Lowell Williams (Doris) of Vina, Ala.; grandchildren, Kayla Williams and Hunter Wilkins.Joel "Coach" Williams was a member of Central Church of Christ. Best known as Bear Bryant's barber, Joel touched many lives and many heads in his life as a barber. Joel was an avid sports fan, coaching many, many years of youth sports. He also co-founded the Alabama Grand Slammers for the University of Alabama baseball program. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Central Church of Christ or Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Rd., Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
