JOHNSTON, S.C.- Services for Mr. Joe Plumer Smith will be held Sunday, January 4, 2004 at 3:30 p.m. at Bland Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mt. of Olives Cemetery. The family is at the home of Andy and Donna Livingston, 312 Calhoun St. and will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home, 4605 Belton Hwy., Anderson, S.C., 29621. Mr. Smith, a native of Walhalla, died Friday, January 2, 2004. He was a retired Security Guard with Salem Carpet, a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 154, and a member of Johnston First Baptist Church. He is survived by a brother, Acie Smith-Walhalla; sister, Geneva Barkley, Gadsden, Ala., and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Rhoden Smith.
