JOHNSTON, S.C. - Joe C. Smith, 52, the son of the late Hazel Smith, Sr. and Mrs. Cora Jones Smith, departed this life on February 1, 2003 at the St. Barnabus Hospital, Bronx, N.Y. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2003 at the Rosa Spring Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Gordon officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Mrs. Cora J. Smith, Johnston, four brothers, Mr. Hazel Smith, Sr. (Inez), J.D. 'Jackie' (Grace), Aiken, James (Dorothy), Johnston, and Louis 'Sammy' Smith (Doris) Aiken, eight sisters, Addie Ligons (Robert) Ridge Spring, Bessie Lee Gomillion, Ridge Spring, Ruthie Ligons (Alvin), Ridge Spring, Ann Tanks (John) Ridge Spring, Mary Elam (Freddie), Ridge Spring, Valerie Smith, Johnston and Brenda Smith, Johnston.
