Joanne (Sewall) Stewart Newmarket - Joanne (Sewall) Stewart, 77, formerly of Packer's Falls Road, died peacefully on Saturday, November 29th 2014, at her daughter's home in Madbury surrounded by family. Born December 13, 1936 in Exeter, she was the daughter of Walter and Myra (Albee) Sewall. Joanne graduated from Newmarket High School, Class of 1955, she was still very involved with them and enjoyed the yearly reunions. She enjoyed meeting her girlfriends to play dominos, crocheting and knitting. She worked many years at the McAllen Company in Newmarket and later on at the Country House in Durham. She was a communicant and sang in the choir of the Christian Faith Church in Newfields and formerly Newmarket Community Church. Joanne was a member of the Dover Elks. She is survived by her son and his wife, James C. and Vicki Stewart III of Effingham; two daughters and their husbands, Pamela and Randy Hatch of Madbury and Julie Stewart-Phelps and Ross Phelps of Tilton; five grandchildren, Jim, David, Sarah, MacKenzie, and Avery; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 1 - 3 p.m. at the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, 77 Exeter Street, Newmarket. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery, Newmarket.
