JOANN JACKSON HAMMOND, IN Joann Jackson, age 50, of Hammond, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 at home following a brief illness. She is lovingly remembered by children: Charlene (David) Jackson, Johnnie (Tyanna) Jackson, Annastasia, Malaysia, Nicholas and Isalyia Shufford all of Hammond; six sisters: Shelli (Steve) Dodds of Indianapolis, IN, Mary Ann Jackson and Carolyn Shufford both of Hammond, and Fannie (Douglas) Castleberry, Annie Roberson and Ethel Welch all of Gary; four brothers: James Jackson of Hammond, Elijah Roberson of Gary, Dan Welch of Denver, Co and Willie Welch of CA; three grandchildren; 12 nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives friends and coworkers. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Divinity Funeral Home, 3831 Main St., East Chicago, IN with Rev. Mark Frazier officiating. Burial Fern Oaks Cemetery Griffith.
