BRENNAN Joan M. Brennan, age 77 of Shelton, entered into rest on Friday, March 14, 2003, at St. Mary s Hospital in West Palm Beach, Fla. Bishop Fulton J. Sheehan married her 48 years ago to Robert J. Brennan. Mrs. Brennan was born in Cambridge, Mass. January 13, 1926, daughter of the late Raymond and Florence Witt O Shea, and had been a Shelton resident for two years, living in Trumbull for 17 years and Stratford for more than 25 years. Mrs. Brennan attended Jean D Arc Academy in Milton, Mass. and Georgian Court College in Lakewood, N.J. She was a photographic model for the John Robert Powers Studio in the 1940s. She was a flight attendant for TWA. Mrs. Brennan was a former EMT volunteer for Stratford and Trumbull, and in the mid-1960s was a two-term past president of St. Vincent s Medical Center Auxillary. She was a former lector at St. Catherine Sienna Church in Trumbull, and volunteered many hours of her time at St. Joseph Manor in Trumbull. She was the beloved mother of Thomas Brennan and his wife, Maria of Branford; sister of Elaine McCarthy of Warwick, R.I., and Kathleen Boylan of Needham, Mass. Mrs. Brennan was the loving grandmother of two granddaughters, Tracy Anne and Jennifer M. Brennan, both of Branford; and was the sister-in-law of Virginia A. Brennan. She also leaves several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Sr. Barbara Brennan O.P. Her funeral will leave the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at 9:45 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Shelton. Burial will be in Mount St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, March 18, 2003 from 4 to 8 p.m. At the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart University, 5100 Park Avenue, Fairfield, CT 06432 or to Villanova University, 800 Lancaster Avenue, Villanova, PA 19085.
