ANDERSON Mrs. Joan M. Anderson, R.N. of Ansonia, widow of Don Anderson, died on Monday, at Emeritus Health Care in Woodbrige. Born in Ware, Mass., daughter of the late John and Alice Flynn Delaney. A communicant of the Church of the Assumption, a graduate of St. Michael's High School in Northampton, Mass and St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Waterbury. She was employed at St. Mary' s Hospital and then as operating room surgical nurse supervisor at Griffin Hospital until her retirement. A member of the Valley Y.M.C.A. and was an avid golfer. Survivors are two sons, Brian Anderson of Derby and Dennis (Cathy) Anderson of Shelton; two sisters, twin sister, Jean (Michael) Sharon of Ellington, and Judith (David) Flood of Seymour; one brother, John (Rosemary) Delaney of Durham; two grandchildren, Lindsay Anderson and Nolan Anderson; as well as several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Bennett Funeral Home, 91 N. Cliff Street, Ansonia, to the Church of the Assumption for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Griffin Hospital Development Fund in care of the funeral home. A special thank you to the staff of Vitas Hospice Services and Emeritus Health Care for all the assistance given to Joan.
