A 1949 graduate of Bridgeton High School, she earned a Bachelor's degree in music from the Eastman School of Music in 1953. She was a very affable person and made others feel special by her genuine interest in and care for them. Her intellect, wide-ranging interests and life experiences helped to make her an excellent conversationalist on just about any subject.
