Begg, JoanJoan Farist Penfield Begg died peacefully November 13, 2014 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford, CT at the age of 87. Born in Bridgeport, CT on March 1, 1927 to Joel Farist Penfield and Ethel Logan Penfield, she was a longtime resident of the Nichols section of Trumbull, CT and Falls Village, CT. She graduated from Northhampton School for Girls, Endicott College and earned a B.S. in Dental Hygiene from the University of Bridgeport. She has been a Member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Nichols, CT for nearly sixty years, a member of Salisbury Arsenal Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Associate member Freelove Baldwin Stow Chapter, Milford, CT, The National Society Colonial Dames XVII, the Winthrop Fleet Chapter, Salisbury, CT, Past President National Society Magna Carta Dames, National Society Daughters of American Colonists, CT Chapter, National Society of Founders and Patriots of America, a member of Canaan-Falls Village Historical Society. She was a life time member of the Canaan Pine Grove Association, about which she co-authored a book: Pine Grove, A Walk through the Past. She was a volunteer at Bridgeport Hospital, Bridgeport, CT Joan was pre deceased by her beloved husband Thomas K Begg II and she is survived by her two sons, Thomas K Begg, III and his wife Joanne, and Bruce Begg, her grandchildren Cody Begg, Annie Hunt and her husband Richard, Amie Begg, Ian Begg and Victoria Begg, a niece, nephew and several close cousins. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church at 11 am on Tuesday November 18, 2014. Burial will be private. Memorial Donations can be made to Trinity Episcopal Church.
