Jim Brown YORK, S.C. - Mr. James Everett "Jim" Brown, 73, formerly of Rock Hill, S.C., passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, N.C. Memorial services celebrating his life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel with Pastor Brian Keith officiating. Burial will be private. A native of Rock Hill, Jim was the son of the late Albert and Margaret Lee Brown. He was a self-employed sign maker and owner of Jim Brown Signs in Rock Hill for over 50 years. Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Norman Brown of the home; two sisters, Linda Rutman and Mary Ann Stroupe and husband, Michael of Rock Hill; his stepson, Eddie Toney of Rock Hill; three stepdaughters, Chevelle Adams of Rock Hill, Kathleen Stimely and husband, Tyler of Winston Salem and Mari Pat Thomas and husband, Philip, also of Winston Salem and two grandsons, Tim Adams and wife, Jennie, of Rock Hill and Master Ezra Thomas of Winston Salem. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2014, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
