JIM D. KING GRIFFITH, IN Jim D. King, age 70, of Griffith, passed away Monday, November 24, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joanne; children: Kerry (Pam) King, Vania (Jerry) Himes and Dania (Paul) Hoshaw; grandchildren: Steven and Branden (Shannon) Hoshaw, Natalie, Shanna, Lacie, Priscilla, Devin and Colin Himes, and Veronica (Brandon) Miller; brother, Doc King; sister, Marva Parrish; mother-in-law, Despina Boswell; brothers-in-law: Tom (Vanessa) Boswell and Terry (Melody) Boswell; numerous nieces, nephews and many other relatives. Preceded in death by his parents: John and Margaret; and brother, John D. King. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pentecostals of South Lake Church located at 1640 W. 93rd Ave. in Crown Point with Pastor Robert Stroup officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Hobart, IN. Friends may meet with the family on Friday, November 28, 2008 from 2:00-9:00 p.m. at the Pentecostals of South Lake Church in Crown Point. Jim was a member of the Pentecostals of South Lake Church and was retired from U.S. Steel Coke Plant Chem Lab and Reactor Services Int'l. He was a Licensed Realtor with CLM Realty and an officer in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Jim was a member of the Supervisors Club, the Old Timers Breakfast Club, Lake County Sheriff's Assoc., the Indiana Sheriff's Assoc. and the NRA. He was a Boy Scout Leader with Troop #264 and a former umpire with Griffith Little League. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
