James G. (Jim) Brown Crown Point James G. (Jim) Brown, age 76, of Crown Point, IN for 19 years, formerly of Black Oak, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at St. Anthony Medical Center in Crown Point, IN. James is survived by his wife, Norma J. Brown of 19 years; brothers & sisters: T.R. Brown, Marjorie Evans; Sue Swindell, Frances Dalton, Dallas Brown, Marilyn Ward, Brenda Meyers and Landis Brown; step- children: Luan Darnall, Donald Meyers and Marti Meyers; step-grandchildren: Angela Meyers, Elizabeth Meyers, Warren Harding, Jade Meyers and Autumn Pifferriti. Preceded in death by sisters: Marie Edwards, Lucille Bennett, two infant sisters and step-son, Chevy Meyers in June 2005. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2005 at 10:00 am at Geisen Funeral Home, Crown Point with John P. Starr officiating. Burial at Memory Gardens of Rensselaer, IN. Friends may call at the Geisen Funeral Home, 109 N. East St., Crown Point on Friday, December 9, 2005 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Jim was born on November 18, 1929 in Hollow Rock, TN the 4th of 13 children of Thomas L. & Ruby Mae (Barnhart) Brown. Jim retired from LTV Steel August 30, 1986 with 30 years of service. He loved his 17 acre farm and you could always find him outside on his 4-wheeler or in his garden in the summer. He provided vegetables for his relatives and all his friends and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
