Died peacefully in the early hours of Monday, December 3, 2001: wife of the late C.G. Bruce; predeceased by her brother Donald Bailey; greatly loved by her son Geoff (Karin) of Duncan, B.C., daughters Margaret of Richmond, Ontario, Jessica Hauser (Jim) of Salmon Arm, B.C., Mary McNamara (D'Arcy) of Ottawa, sister-in-law Kathryn Bailey, niece and nephew Susan and Stuart Bailey, nephew Derek Carruthers (Poppy) of Great Dunmow, Essex, England, and her many grandchildren; dearest life-long friend of Hilda Ogilvie of Ottawa; affectionately remembered by her neighbours in Wychwood, Quebec, by her peers from Queen's University (B.Commerce, 1934), and by her many collegues in External Affairs and in Washington, D.C.; profound thanks to the compassionate staff at Carlingview Manor who cared for her (and for her cat, Myrtle!) in her last weeks, and to the exceptional staff at Unitarian House, her home for the past 8 years. Memorial Visitation at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa, Friday, December 7, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Donations to Unitarian House would be appreciated.
