TUSCALOOSA Jessie Inez Skelton Lee, age 89, of Tuscaloosa, passed away June 14, 2011, at Hospice of West Alabama. She was surrounded by her family when she left her earthly home. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Revs. William Holley and Bill Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the funeral home.She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William Roy Lee; a daughter, Melba Dean Spencer; and her parents, James and Senie Skelton.She is survived by three children, Otis Ray Lee (Berdie Ann), Virginia Cadenhead (Bill) and Margaret Pate (Bobby). She is also survived by six grandchildren, Chris Pate, Charles Spencer, Jr., and Dana Spencer Waldrop, and Andy, Susan, and Randy Lee (Beth): five great-grandchildren, Chad and Jacob Spencer, Chris Pate, Jr., and Gabrielle and Zachary Lee; a brother-in-law, Curtis Lee (Mary); and other nieces, nephews, and cousins.She attended Andrews Chapel United Methodist and Holten Heights Nazarene Churches and also St. Mark United Methodist Church, until her health no longer allowed her to do so. She was an incredible cook and seamstress and spent many years working at Butte Knit and retired from Andrew Knit. She was loved and cherished by her family and will be missed by all who knew her.Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Debra Davis, Charles Spencer, Kathy Giles, Bob and Charlotte Green, and Gloria Lyles.Chris and Christopher Pate, Andy, Randy, and Zachary Lee, and Roy Giles will serve as pallbearers.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in her memory to Andrews Chapel UMC, Holten Heights Nazarene Church, UMCOR or American Red Cross for Tuscaloosa tornado relief efforts, or St. Mark UMC building fund.Condolences may be offered at www.memorychapelfuneralhome.com.
