RANDOLPH Jessie Griffin Randolph, 64, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2007 while traveling in Washington, D.C. with her daughter and granddaughter. She was born on February 26, 1943 in Green Cove Springs, FL and graduated from Clay High School. She was one of the first Rainbow girls of Orange Park and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved to travel, cook and entertain. During her life, Jessie lived in Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, California, Iowa, Illinois, Nigeria, Malaysia, Indonesia and Spain. While in Indonesia, Jessie wrote her own cookbook featuring recipes she had collected from around the world. Later in Nigeria, Nashville songwriter Jimmy Z. Robinson wrote a song for her, “Jessie Was a Good Old Girl” as a tribute to her legendary hostessing skills. In addition, she traveled extensively to many other places. She was creative, talented and a lot of fun. She owned her own hair styling salons and fulfilled her lifelong dream when she opened “Consignment by Design” in 1996 in Orange Park. This wasn't just a business for Jessie; it became a gathering place of friends. She is survived by her loving children Ronda Randolph, Kim McHenry (Terry) and Randy Randolph; three grandchildren Kristina, Sarah and Taylor; her mother, Nadine Griffin; two sisters, four brothers and many other family members and friends. Funeral services in celebration of her life will be held on Friday, June 15, 2007, 2:00 PM in the chapel of JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL.
