He was born in Reading on Feb. 2, 1921, son of the late John and Ethel (Hutchinson) Anderson. He spent his youth in Reading.Mr. Anderson served in the Marine Corps as a technical sergeant during World War II.He was employed with the Public Works Department in Wilmington for more than 26 years before he retired.He was a member of the American Legion Post in Wilmington and enjoyed gardening.His survivors include eight children, Malcolm J. Anderson and his wife, Kathy, of Tewksbury, Roy J. Anderson and his wife, Debbie, Debra J. Anderson, John H. Anderson, Linda L. Gionfriddo and her husband, Louis, Kevin D. Downs and Craig F. Downs, all of Wilmington, and Robin L. Anderson-Murphy and her husband, Scott, of West Newfield, Maine; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Anderson of North Leeds, Maine and Ruth Burnett of Dracut; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
