Jerry "Butch" Wayne Davis, 42, Port Charlotte, died Feb. 22, 2004. He was born March 21, 1961, in Buffalo, N.Y., and came to the Charlotte County area 32 years ago from Hamburg, N.Y. He worked as director of environmental services for Bon Secours-St. Joseph Hospital. He was a member of the Buffalo Bill Backers of Charlotte County, Pirate Football Corps, and was one of the coaches for the Port Charlotte Bandits for nine years. He was also founder of Kids Jam in Charlotte County and involved in numerous fund-raising activities for children in the community. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Sandy; sons Brett Gibbons, David, and Daniel, all of Port Charlotte; daughters Aaron Favara, Jamie and Kelsi, all of Port Charlotte; his parents, Ronald and Nancy Hickson of Punta Gorda; his grandmother, Lela Schosek of Punta Gorda; a brother, David Decsavero of Brant, N.Y.; and sisters Kelly Kowalski of Waukesha, Wis., and Tina Hickson of Punta Gorda. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Paul Schelm Funeral Home in Port Charlotte, with services to follow at 2 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
