BELVEDERE, S.C. - Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Russell Collins will be private. The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 at the home of Charlene Collins. South Carolina Cremation & Burial Society is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Belvedere Girls Softball League, PO Box 7366, North Augusta, SC, 29861 in memory of Jerry Collins. Mr. Collins, 73, of Belvedere, died Monday, July 6, 2009 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Born in Berwick, PA, he was the son of the late Russell and Lois Smith Collins. He lived in Belvedere most of his life. Jerry loved to collect post cards, coins, and was an avid supporter of the Belvedere Girls Softball League. His most prized possessions were his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Eugene Collins, Royce Collins. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Allin Collins, daughters, Kimberly (Tony) Viles, Savannah, GA; Melissa Ann (J.B.) Mock, Augusta, GA; Elizabeth Sue (David) Sack, North Augusta; sisters, Sandy (Richard) Albertson, Sherry Gibbs, grandchildren, Jonathan (Ashley) Ready, Jennifer Ready, Alexander Viles, Kobe Viles, Catherine Sack, and Megan Bedenbaugh.
