-><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Harrington, Jeremiah (Jerry)Jeremiah (Jerry) Harrington, 67, of Rye died January 29, 2015, following injuries suffered in a car accident in Sarasota, Florida. The driver of the other car failed to stop at a signed intersection.Jerry was born at United Hospital in Port Chester, NY on March 31st 1947 to Michael and Nora Harrington. He grew up in Larchmont, NY and finally settled in Rye and Amagansett, NY with his wife and children in 1985.Jerry graduated from Mamaroneck High School, where he started as a hard-nosed linebacker on the legendary undefeated 1964 football team. After serving in the United States Navy, Jerry enjoyed an outstanding career on Wall Street as an equity sales trader, making his mark at Tucker Anthony, Drexel Burnham, and SG Cowen. Besides his family, Jerry's real passion was golf. He was always a single-digit handicap and a popular longtime member of Westchester Country Club in Rye, where he won the Men's senior club championship in 2005. At 65 years young, a lifetime of practice finally earned him golf's ultimate accomplishment of a hole in one. In his retirement, his favorite time on the course was spent with his beloved granddaughter, Olivia. Jerry touched many lives along the way, helped many young men start their careers on Wall Street, and mentored all he could with his invaluable wisdom. His winning smile, hearty laugh, and generous spirit were infectious and will live on in our memories. Jerry is survived by his loving family: wife Helen, son Colin, daughter Leigh, son-in-law Mike, and his precious granddaughter Olivia. He is also survived by his 4 brothers Brian, Robert, John, and Kevin and his two sisters, Mary Lyden and Noreen Keating. He was predeceased by his two brothers Michael and Dennis. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 7th at 10 AM at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye, New York. The wake will be held at Graham Funeral Home in Rye, NY on Friday, February 6th from 3 PM to 8 PM.In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a donation to a charity supporting WCC caddies.Checks payable to: WCC Caddy Scholarship Fund.
