Johnson, passed away Monday, February 27, 2012, at her grandson's home in Simpsonville. She was a lifetime resident of the Nesmith community before moving recently to her grandson's home. Born October 20, 1923, in Johnsonville, she was the daughter of the late L. M. (Gold) Altman and the late Lillie Williams Ward. Mrs. Johnson graduated from Johnsonville High School and was a bookkeeper for many years at the Hyman Motor Company in Hemingway. She was a member of Nesmith Baptist Church where she served as church treasurer and Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class, the Ladies WMU, and was well known for her love of the Church and her many family and friends. She will be remembered most for commemorating every birthday and special occasion with cards - with writing filling every available square inch and the important words underlined several times. Survivors include her grandson, Robi (Mary) Owens of Simpsonville; and sisters, Miriam Altman Taylor and Pearline Altman Tanner, both of Johnsonville. She was predeceased by her son, Steve Johnson, and her daughter, Nancy Owens. Funeral services, conducted by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be held at 1:00PM Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Nesmith Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00PM - 8:00PM Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Memorial donations may be made to Nesmith Baptist Church, P. O.
