Athens - Funeral services for Mrs. Jeannine Stone Smith Hall, age 80, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2009, in the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, Ga., with interment on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Oconee Hill Cemetery.Mrs. Hall was born October 17, 1928, in Clarke County; she was the daughter of the late Ellison Blair and Lorene Dunston Stone. She was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas Joseph Smith Jr.; brother, Edwin "Brick" Stone; and two sisters, Edith Work and Eleanor Hennings. She was retired from the University of Georgia where she served as Secretary of the Law School and the Political Science Department. Mrs. Hall passed away early Tuesday morning, March 24, 2009, following an extended illness.She is survived by her husband, Lanier Hall of Tennille, Ga.; two sons, Ruff E. (Pam) Smith and Steve C. Smith, both of Danielsville, Ga.; a daughter, Susan (Bob) Aspenleiter of Bethlehem, Pa.; two stepchildren, Jerald (Carol) Conley and Barbara (Emory) Hudson, both of Macon, Ga.; a brother, Joel (May) Stone of Alpharetta, Ga.; grandchildren, Apryl Jeannine and Whit Smith of Danielsville, Ga., Brandon, Trent and Jeff Smith, all of Danielsville, Ga., Justin Aspenleiter of Bethlehem, Pa., Tracy Heard of Atlanta, Ga., Scott and Kristy Hudson and Angie White, all of Macon, Ga.; and several great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., Friday evening at Bernstein Funeral Home, 3195 Atlanta Hwy., Athens, Ga.Bernstein Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. www.bernsteinfuneralhome.com.
