Jeannie Lynn Whiten Smith, 50, of 119 Deborah Lane, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at her home. Mrs. Smith was born in Greenville, the daughter of Sam and Joan Sosby Whiten. She retired from Publix Super Markets. In addition to her parents she is survived by a son, Jason Nathaniel Arthur Smith "Rabbit", of Greenville; a daughter, Jeannie Samatha Smith, of New Orleans; brothers, Bobby Whiten and Kenneth Whiten, both of Greenville, and Eddie Whiten of Anderson; and best friend, Cathy Stiles, of Greenville. She will be remembered as "full of life" and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Graceland Cemetery, West. The family is at the residence.
