McGILP, Jeanne It is with sadness and regret that we announce the passing of Jeanne (White) McGilp on Sunday morning February 1, 2015 at the West Island Palliative Care Residence– Stillview Pavillon in Pointe Claire. She died peacefully in her sleep with Shirley and Cara at her side. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ian (1922-2004). Jeanne and Ian had shared and cherished sixty wonderful married years together. She was the loving and very proud mother of Chris (Barbara), Gordon (deceased in 1975), and Shirley McCallum (Lynn) who will hold her dear in their hearts forever. She was the loving grandmother to Katie Phillips (Ryan and great-granddaughters Marissa and Olivia), Kevin McGilp (Krystle), Gordon McCallum (Katerine) and Cara McCallum (Patrick). Jeanne was predeceased by her beloved sister Dorothy who passed away in 2012. She will be missed by her sister-in-law Iveah McGilp (Peterborough, Ontario) and by many nieces, nephews and their families and friends. A Celebration of Jeanne's Life will take place on Saturday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Union Church, 24 Maple Avenue, Ste. Anne de Bellevue, Quebec. Reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that any donations in Jeanne's memory be made either to the West Island Palliative Care Residence-Pavillon Stillview (300 Stillview, Pointe Claire, Quebec, H9R 0A1) or the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation (160 Stillview, Pointe Claire, Quebec, H9R 2Y2). A very special thank you to all the staff of the Lakeshore Hospital and the West Island Palliative Care Residence who provided exceptional care and assistance to both Jeanne and the family. Interment to follow at Pinecrest Cemetery in Ottawa, Ontario at a later date.
