JEANNE GILESHOYT, 70Dental Assistant/Seigler Funeral Home LAKELAND - Jeanne Giles Hoyt, age 70, passed away Thursday November 26, 2009 at L.R.M.C. after a courageous 3 year battle with ovarian cancer. Jeanne was born in Winter Haven, Fl., on April 25, 1939 to Rabun Eugene & Marie (Blair) Giles. Jeanne grew up in Pierce & Mulberry. During her youth Jeanne was Baptized into and joined First Baptist Church of Mulberry. Jeanne was a Mulberry High School graduate class of 1957. Jeanne then went to Tampa to become a dental assistant and returned to Mulberry where she assisted Dr. Gordon Taylor for a number of years. Jeanne worked as a dental assistant for 40 plus years assisting Dr. Winston Morris, Dr. Banks Simmons and most recently Dr. Robert "Bobby" Bell until her declining health no longer permitted. Jeanne also worked for Seigler Funeral Home as a receptionist for the past 7 years. Jeanne really loved greeting and seeing all the people. Jeanne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and spending time at the beach. Jeanne is survived by her husband of 38 years Jim Hoyt, Lakeland, daughter Melanie (Mark) Seigler, Mulberry, son Dale (Lynn) Cravey, St. Pete, FL., stepson Randy Hoyt-Lakeland, FL., sister Lillian (Horace) Jones, Medulla, FL., grandchildren: Matthew & Michael Hughes, Clayton Cravey, Lindsey Dunn, Samuel & Kiersten Hoyt, great granddaughter Madison "Maddie" Hughes. Visitation will be held Monday November 30, 2009 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Seigler Funeral Home- Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday December 1, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Seigler Funeral Home-Chapel. Rev. Terry Coe and Dr. Gerald Bagwell officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park-Lakeland. Jeanne's family would like to express their heart felt gratitude to Dr. Richard Boothby and the entire staff at Lakeland Regional Cancer Center as well as L.R.M.C. B6-B-Pod Oncology and 3East Palliative Care for the excellent care they gave to Jeanne during her illness. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Lakeland Regional Cancer Center In Memory of Jeanne Hoyt, 3525 Lakeland Hills.
