Jeanne Cox, 67 of Springfield, passed away Friday April 16, 2010, in CoxHealth South. Jeanne was born in Springfield, Mo., on August 21, 1942, to Cecil Paul and Doris Raby. She married Carl Eugene Cox on June 18, 1961, he preceded her in death. Jeanne worked as a Nutrition Assistant for the Springfield Public Schools for the past several years. Her greatest joy was helping to raise her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jeanne was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mark Alan Cox; and a sister, Patricia Stever. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Deanna and Steve Powelson, Donna and Dean Spellman; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren; three brothers, three sisters, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Jeanne was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 3 p.m. in Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W. State Hwy EE, Springfield, Mo., with interment to follow in White Chapel Memorial Garden. A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Family has requested memorial donations be made in Jeanne's name to the funeral home to help establish a fund to cover the cost of school lunches for needy children.
