Mrs. Jeanette Tyner Strickland, 89, of Eastanollee, GA, died Friday, February 21, 2014.Born May 9, 1924 in Athens, GA, she was a daughter of the late Joel Marvin and Fairah Winn Tyner.She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church and was retired from the Stephens County Board of Education with 31 years of service. Mrs. Strickland was the last of her immediate family. Family members include sons and daughters-in-law, Charles D. and Suzan Strickland, Jack T. and Linda Carol Strickland, R. Allen and Phyllis Strickland, Joe E. and Delores Strickland, and Styles R. and Marilyn Strickland; daughter, Dianne Aaron; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Reed Strickland; son, William David Strickland; her twin brother, John Chapel Tyner; brother, William Dwaine Tyner; sisters, Mary Jo Sartin and Jean T. LaVallee.Funeral services will be held at three o'clock Sunday, February 23, 2014 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Jerrell Beatty and Mr. Allen Strickland officiating.Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 1pm until the service hour on Sunday, February 23, 2014.
