Dec. 5, 1927-May 28, 2012Mrs. Jeanette Nolan Smith, 84, of Tuscumbia, Ala., passed away May 28, 2012, in Huntsville.Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Jim Nolan and Eliza Morris Nolan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lee Smith, and son, Charles Lee Smith Jr.She is survived by two daughters, Lula Smith Yarbrough, of Harvest, Debra Smith Parks, (Leonard), of Meridianville; four grandchildren, Darlan Yarbrough, Patrice Yarbrough Boddie and An' Janette Yarbrough, all of Harvest, and Alexis Parks, of Meridianville; and seven great-grandchildren.Mrs. Smith graduated from Alabama State University with a B.A. degree in music and a B.S. in secondary education. Mrs. Smith was employed by the Lawrence County School System, where she retired of 32 years.Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Union Chapel M.B. Church, Huntsville. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens.
