JEANETTE MATTHEWS HENDERSON, 80 LAKELAND - Jeanette Matthews Henderson passed from this earth on Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at the age of 80. Her death was due to cancer. She was born in Auburndale, FL on November 13, 1926. She is survived by James Henderson, her husband of 59 years; four children: Gayle Harrison of Lakeland and her husband, Bill, Kaye Betz of Lakeland and her husband Sanford, Terry Henderson of Winter Haven and his wife, Tammy, and Patricia Henderson of Lakeland; six grandchildren: Stephanie Dougan of Boston, MA and her husband, Michael, Kelly White of Lakeland and her husband, Lije, Susan Betz of Lakeland, and Nathan, Kaley, and Matthew Henderson of Winter Haven; sisters, Doris Jenkins of Tampa and Thelma Kidd of McConnell, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers. Mrs. Henderson was a Christian and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always looking for ways to help others. In the past, she was a member of the hospital auxiliary, a Sunday School teacher, and was involved with the women's mission groups and children's activities. As an active member of Parkview Baptist Church, she was most recently head of the library ministry. Visitation will be on Monday, February 26 at Parkview Baptist Church at 10am. The service will follow at 11 am. Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkview Baptist Church Library Fund. Lanier Funeral Home.
