MITCHELL, JEANETTE MAE, 82 Ocala - Jeanette Mae Mitchell, 82, of Ocala passed away on January 26, 2015. She was born in Chicago, IL on February 27, 1932 and moved to Lawrence and Hartford, MI. She met the 'Love of Her Life' William D. 'Bill' Mitchell on July 15, 1953. It was love at first sight and marriage followed on January 21, 1954. She enjoyed the Big Bands of the 40's and 50's and would spend many hours dancing at the Crystal Palace at Paw Paw Lake in Coloma, MI. Jeanette moved to Lafayette, IN in 1961 where she and her husband raised two sons. After retirement in 1994, Jeanette and Bill moved to Ocala. She was a 20 year member of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church and enjoyed singing with her husband in the Church choir. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ethel (Torvinisky) Chalus of Hartford, MI; brother, Theodore Chalus and sisters, Ethel Smoltz and Dolly Chalus. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Bill; sons, Steven William Mitchell (Karen) and Kenneth David Mitchell (Pamela) all of Lafayette, IN; grandchildren, Michelle Fletcher (John), David Mitchell, Christine Peercy (Micah) and great grandchildren, Logan, Samuel and Estella Fletcher. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church (4047 NE 21st St., Ocala, FL 34470) on Tuesday (Feb. 3rd) at 11AM.
