Jean S. Harrington, 88, Port Charlotte, formerly of North Port, died Nov. 21, 2006, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte. She was born Feb. 26, 1918, in Philadelphia and came to Port Charlotte in 1987 from North Port, and previously from New York. She retired as a teacher and was a Christian. She graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois and earned a master's degree at Adelphia University in New York. Survivors include daughters Carolyn H. Lancaster of Jensen Beach and Linda H. Young of Wiscasset, Maine; a son, Robert E. of East Marion, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel. Private inurnment will be later in Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to the Christian Children's Fund, 2821 Emerywood Parkway, Richmond, VA 23294; or to a favorite charity.
