Jean (Waltermire) Pierce Raymond, 79, of Marlborough and formerly a longtime Southborough resident, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012. She was the wife of Richard Raymond and William Pierce, who died in 1974, and the daughter of Eugene and Hilda (Whiteman) Waltermire. Jean was a homemaker until her first husband passed away and she needed to support her family. Jean worked in the distribution department of the Worcester Telegram and delivered both the Telegram and Metro West Daily News to more than 200 homes daily. She was the friendly lady who was never too busy to chat with her customers or hand off an extra copy of the newspaper to a policeman on a detail. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, William Pierce and his wife, Diane, of Upton, David Pierce and his wife, Ruth, of Barre, James Pierce and his wife, Patty, of West Charlestown, Vt., Steven Pierce of Spencer, Michael Pierce and his wife, Audrey, of West Ossipee, N.H., Cathy Snyder and her husband, Paul, of Berlin, N.H., Roberta Caira and her longtime partner, John Chambers, of Milford, Richard Pierce and his wife, Louisa, of Lunenburg, Suzanne Peirce of Marlborough, Sally DeMarco and her husband, James, of Worcester, John Pierce and his wife, Nilde, of Southborough, Daniel Pierce of Whitinsville and Thomas Pierce of Framingham; two sisters, Nancy LaBossiere of Tennessee and Janet Young of Arkansas; 24 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by three children, Robert, Leonard and George Pierce, and two brothers, Richard and Kenneth Waltermire. Visiting hours are Monday, Dec. 3, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough. A funeral home service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m., at Morris Funeral Home.
