Jean Masters Schexnayder Purvis - SAVANNAH - Jean Masters Schexnayder Purvis, 93, of Savannah, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Aug 12, 2009 at her residence at Buckingham South, under the care of Hospice Savannah. She was born February 15, 1916 in Newton, Alabama, and was a 1938 Graduate of the Warren A. Candler School of Nursing, and a member of the Warren A. Candler Nurses Association. She was retired from the Chatham County Public Health Department, having served as a Registered Nurse for 34 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple for the past 78 years, and a member of the Rachel/Berean Sunday School Class, the Senior Adults, the WMU, and she had taught Sunday School at Calvary Baptist Temple for many years. She was preceded in death by her son, Ernest D. Masters. She is survived by a daughter, Jeannie Lynn Schexnayder Greenberg, of Alpharetta, Ga; a son, Joseph Anthony "Tony" Masters, of Savannah, Ga; 2 grandsons, Barry Michael Masters and Craig Ashley Masters. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Fairhaven Funeral Home. Home Coming Services: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Temple, with Rev. Wayne Watts, Rev. David Stanton and Rev. Dennis Maddox officiating. Interment will follow in Bonaventure Cemetery. Mrs. Purvis will be taken to the church at 9:00 a.m. to lie in state. Honorary Pallbearers: Warren A.
