Jean Marie Wilbar Morris, departed December 10, 2014 from Jupiter, Florida after a struggle with ovarian cancer, brief coda to a healthful 76-year journey of prudent optimism, vigilant creativity, rational empathy, poised dominion, studious avocation, judicious adventurism, pensive sorrow, quelled anxiety, valiant reinvention and self-willed pragmatism. Native Miamian, whose roots stretched down through the Everglades and forged the path of Flagler's Folly; child witness to the rationing and blackouts of a world at war; parental proxy for five, free-spirited siblings; athletic and scholastic achiever; Miami Edison High School Cadette; globetrotting Delta stewardess during the golden-age of elegant air travel; Columbus, Ohio transplant who embraced a pivotal challenge and became a loving and compassionate wife and mother; talented homemaker and industrious craftswoman; courageous middle-age freshman and subsequent twice graduate of The Ohio State University; Master of Higher Education Administration and admired Office of Continuing Education program manager; licensed paralegal and director of the Ohio Women's Bar Association; sharp & insightful correspondent; supporter of progressive personal and social evolution; nascent artist; diligent epicure; ardent gardener; civil war buff; Daughter of the American Revolution. Proceeded in death by parents James Bryan Wilbar, Ruth Jeanette Allen Wilbar; brother John Edward Wilbar; husband Robert Howard Morris. Survived by sons Robert Howard Morris II, Jeffrey Allen Morris; daughter-in-law Mary Suzanne Morris; sisters Lorena Wilbar Allen, Mildred Lynn Broomall, Paulette Wilbar Ward; brother Richard Allen Wilbar; sister-in-law Maryann Wilbar; brothers-in-law Vernon Harlan Broomall, Myles Glen Ward; nieces Susan Overstreet Filebark, Alistair Wilbar Broomall, Barrett Wilbar Broomall Hein, Kimber Leigh Wright; nephews Thomas Howard Overstreet, Jesse Bennington Wilbar; many other vibrant sprouts on the ever-growing family tree. Jean's ashes will be dispersed throughout the seven seas in a private ceremony attended by family and close friends. A memorial brick rests in the pioneer section along the path to the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, seek out its inspirational message. Fellow celebrants can reflect on a happy memory of Jean's life and pay the positive feeling forward by donating to a vital charity; signing an organ donor card; calling on an elderly relative; lending a hand to a stranger in need; volunteering in your community; or simply raising a toast in her name: May you have enough happiness to keep you sweet, trials to make you strong, sorrow to keep you human, success to make you eager, failure to keep you humble, hope to make you happy, courage to banish sadness and friends to give you comfort.
