<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->July 17, 1937 - Nov. 19, 2014 Jean Hieronymus Purvis, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Jean worked for 17 years as the Division Coordinator for the American Red Cross. She retired from the U.S. Government Pre-Trial Service after 20 years of service. She served as Parish Council President at St. Pius X Parish and was a longtime member of Little Flower Parish where she served as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and active member of the Community Services Committee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Beeman Purvis, Sr., and mother, Angel Eastburn Hieronymus. She is survived by one son, Edward Beeman "Hip" Purvis, Jr. (Deborah); sister, Jennifer Hieronymus; two grandchildren, Dalton Purvis and Angel Purvis; two nephews, William Hieronymus and Michael Robert Hieronymus; and foster daughter, Kaitlen Leddick. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to St. Mary's Home, 4350 Moffett Road, Mobile, AL 36618. Arrangements by Ascension Funerals & Cremations, Mobile, AL.
