WASHBURN, (UNDERHILL) JEAN ELLEN It is with great sorrow and sadness that the family announces the sudden death of Jean Ellen Washburn, wife of the late John (Jack) Washburn on November 19, 2007. Jean was born on April 19, 1931. She was the daughter of Lorne and Annie (Touchie) Underhill. Jean graduated from the Moncton City Hospital School of Nursing and worked for several years in Toronto and Montreal before settling in Fredericton, where she raised her family. She continued to pursue her career as a loving and caring Nurse, until her retirement from the Gagetown Nursing Home in the early 1990's. Jean is survived by her sons, Paul (Nita), John (Lynn), Gregory (Lynn), Ian and P.J. McKay (Kim). Besides her late husband, she was predeceased by her son, Stephen. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jenny, Melissa, Jacob, Denise, Mary Ellen and Johnny; five brothers, Warren (Marg), Lyndon (Mary), Jack (Lois), Sterling (Louise) and Gary; four sisters, Edna (Jim), Mary (Royal), Elsie (Dave) and Doris (Guy). Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 12 pm from the Doaktown United Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Townstead officiating. Interment will take place at Sunny Bank Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Devon Park Baptist Church or to the Doaktown United Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
