Jean E. (Donnellan) Lee, a classroom teacher in the inpatient psychiatry department at Boston Childrens Hospital, died following a brief illness, January 31, 2015, at Brigham and Womens Hospital. She was 67. Jean was born and raised in Newton, where she graduated from Sacred Heart High School. She then enrolled at Boston State College which she not only earned her bachelors and masters degrees in education but also met her husband, Robert G. Lee of Dorchester. Jean and Bob settled in Dorchester, where they raised their three children and became very active in the local community. Jean was a strong community leader. She served on the boards of the Murphy Community Center Council, GB-ARC, Patriots Trail Girl Scout Council, and was actively involved in the youth programs of Saint Ann, Neponset. Jean took great pride in participating in the education of children during their darkest times while inpatient at Childrens Hospital for over 27 years. In addition to being the beloved wife of 43 years to Bob, she was also the loving mother of Robert G. Lee Jr. of Dorchester, Maureen E. Maderos and her husband Matthew of Quincy and Elizabeth A. Angell and her husband Brian of Dorchester; the devoted Mimi to Matthew, Christopher, Patrick, Joseph and Abigail; and the dear sister of Charles Donnellan and his wife Kathleen of Natick. Jean is affectionately remembered by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy, Friday from 4-8 p.m. A celebration of life service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Ann Church, Neponset, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
